This chicken sausage flatbread recipe is a quick and easy way to prepare dinner. The base consists of tomato sauce, cheese, and sausage and is then topped with zucchini slices and fresh oregano.
Ingredients
- Zucchini
- Italian Seasoning
- Flatbreads
- Mozzarella Cheese

- Colavita Crushed Tomatoes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees F. Wash and dry produce.
- Trim zucchini into 1/2 inch thick rounds. Pick oregano leaves from stems and discard stems. Roughly chop leaves.
- Places zucchini on lightly oiled baking sheet and season with salt, pepper, and 1/2 tsp italian seasoning. Bake in oven (top rack) until browned and softened, 5-7 minutes. Remove sheet from oven, adjust temperature to 450 degrees F.
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add sausage and half the oregano. Break up the meat and cook for 4-6 minutes. Turn off heat.
- Place flatbreads on a second lightly oiled baking sheet. Toast in oven until lightly browned, 5-7 minutes.
- Spread half the crushed tomatoes in a thin layer on toasted flatbreads. Season with salt, pepper, and 1/2 tsp italian seasoning. Top with sausage, zucchini, and mozzarella.
- Bake flatbreads until edges are golden brown and cheese has melted, 4-6 minutes.
- Sprinkle flatbreads with as much remaining oregano as preferred. Slice into pieces.
